The menu is created by proprietor Franner Jordan. Franner delights in sharing fabulous local produce with anyone interested in tasting the best that the Scottish Highlands has to offer. We pride ourselves on using only the finest and freshest local ingredients cooked freshly to order. At the time of writing we are pleased to have the highest rated restaurant in Ullapool based on customer reviews.
Ullapool is a fishing village so naturally we specialise in seafood but we wouldn’t be doing justice to the best of Highland produce if we didn’t also showcase some of the finest meat produce available too.
In the season we offer fresh creel caught langoustine, a local delicacy landed in Ullapool, local smoked haddock, large, delicious fresh local mussels, Ullapool smoked salmon and non-intensively local salmon as well as Orkney crab and herring to name but a few of the highlights.
All our meat is sourced locally. We offer fresh Highland steaks from cattle reared on rich pastures surrounding the Moray Firth as well as Scotch lamb and local venison, the butcher’s special venison sausages, even our chicken is Scottish! You can taste other local delicacies such as the famed Stornoway Black Pudding and Munro’s Haggis too.
Vegetarians don’t worry! We think we’re the most veggie-friendly place in Ullapool. We make sure there is loads of choice on our menu and we’ll often have a whole separate veggie menu for your delight. We’re also Coeliac friendly, we avoid using wheat flour wherever possible and keep gluten-free bread and pasta in the kitchen. Most of our dishes are available in non-wheat versions but we also have a coeliac-only menu to make choosing easy!
We aim to offer great food in a casual dining atmosphere.
